MIRI: A man was injured in a single-vehicle crash on the airport flyover here late Thursday night (Aug 28).
The victim, 25, was trapped inside his car when emergency services arrived at the scene at about 9.30 pm.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel from Lopeng station managed to free him without the use of heavy equipment as he was not pinned inside the vehicle.
He was later handed over to paramedics from Miri Hospital before being transferred to Miri General Hospital for further treatment.
The alarm was raised at 9.15 pm, with Bomba personnel dispatched within a minute and reaching the scene 14 km away in under 15 minutes.
The rescue operation, led by PBKII TBK I Ariffin Arbi, was completed by 9.40 pm.
Traffic police and medical officers were also present at the site. No other vehicles or individuals were reported to be involved in the incident.
Authorities have yet to confirm the cause of the crash.
