PADAWAN: Two local men were killed in separate motorcycle accidents here on Monday (Sept 1).
Padawan police chief Supt Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, confirmed the fatalities, which occurred in the early hours and later at night on the same day.
The first accident occurred at 12.48 am at Mile 7, Jalan Penrissen, when a 26-year-old rider had lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into a road divider. The impact flung him to the opposite lane, and he was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
Meanwhile, the second fatal crash took place at 7.58 pm along Jalan Kampung Mambong-Serian, involving a collision between a motorcycle and a car. The 38-year-old rider died at the scene after the impact.
Mohd Irwan said both cases are being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless or dangerous driving.
The bodies of the victims were taken to Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for post mortem examinations.
