SIBURAN: A Lotus Elise sports car, belonging to an automotive content creator Fadhil Mohamad Isa, also known as Kaduk/Cardock, was completely destroyed in a fire along Jalan Kuching–Serian yesterday (Sept 7).
Fadhil, who had owned the vehicle for nearly eight years, was driving with his wife when they noticed smoke and pulled over near the Batu 12 traffic light junction.
Moments later, the car suddenly erupted in flames. Both managed to escape unhurt.
Fadhil attempted to douse the blaze with a fire extinguisher kept in the car, but it malfunctioned.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said they received a distress call at 5.46 pm and dispatched firefighters from Siburan station to the scene.
Upon arrival, they found the vehicle beyond saving and extinguished the flames using water sourced from the fire engine’s water tank.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation concluded at 6.30 pm.
The cause of the fire and lossess incurred is still under investigation.
