KUCHING: Kuching City FC head coach, Aidil Sharin Sahak, has made it clear — his side want nothing to do with a penalty shootout for today (Sept 14) FA Cup second-leg showdown with Brunei DPMM.

The Singaporean tactician believes the Cats have what it takes to finish the job within 90 minutes at Sarawak Stadium, Petra Jaya, and overturn the 3-2 loss from the first leg in Bandar Seri Begawan last month.

“Our focus is simple — go for the win. That’s what I’ve been stressing to the boys,” said Aidil, who nevertheless admitted his men have been sharpening their spot-kicks in training as insurance.

Still, he stressed no team wants to leave it late. “Penalties are unpredictable. Anything can happen,” he added.

City must score at least twice without reply to seal passage, with a 2-0 result enough to wipe out the one-goal deficit and dump out the visiting Wasps.

With pride and a quarter-final berth at stake, the Cats are fired up for what promises to be a tense night under the Petra Jaya lights.
