POPULAR actor and comedian Zizan Razak has stressed that every act of charity he extends to those in need comes purely from the intention of easing their burden, not from a desire for attention or praise.

The 41-year-old said his contributions are driven by faith and gratitude, acknowledging that much of what he has today stems from the prayers and support of his parents, fans and the wider community.

“I do it because of Allah. Everything I have today comes from the prayers of others — my parents, my supporters — it doesn’t belong to me alone. Sometimes, out of RM10 we earn, maybe only RM3 is truly ours; while the remaining RM7 belongs to others in need.

“If possible, I’d prefer to keep it private. But perhaps there is wisdom in Allah allowing these stories to be known, so that they may inspire others. That’s all. I choose to see it positively, as I fear pride might otherwise mislead me,” he said.

At the same time, Zizan admitted that there are some people who have tried to take advantage of his generosity.

“I’ve come across scams involving thousands of ringgit. But if someone is truly in need, I will still help as sincerely as I can.

“Sometimes I helped someone once, then they returned asking for more, saying it was for their mother. I felt sorry and gave again, but when they kept coming back, I suspected it was a scam. Still, I try my best to help,” he shared.

Recently, Zizan became the subject of online conversations after several individuals, including fellow comedian Amir Raja Lawak, publicly shared that they had received his support.

Since then, many have praised Zizan for his generosity, noting his humility and willingness to give without showing off — qualities that have earned him respect as a role model among local celebrities.
