KUCHING: Chaos unfolded at Jalan Canna here when a black Mercedes Benz lost control and ploughed into five vehicles waiting at a red light, triggering a six-car pile-up.
Kuching Police Chief, ACP Alexson Naga Chabu, said the 4:12 pm crash on Thursday involved a local man in his 20s who was behind the wheel of the Mercedes.
“The impact caused a chain collision involving six vehicles.
“Fortunately, no serious injuries were reported, with the damage limited to the vehicles,” he said in a statement.
The case is being investigated under Rule 10 of the Road Traffic Rules 1959 for failing to control a vehicle and causing an accident.
Alexson also urged road users to remain alert, comply with traffic laws and exercise courtesy to prevent similar accidents.
