KUALA LUMPUR: Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, in his capacity as president of the Islamic Welfare Organisation of Malaysia (PERKIM), has chaired a special meeting at Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) today (Sept 29) to reinforce the organisation’s structure and direction.
The meeting at Menara Affin focused on enhancing PERKIM’s direction through transparent governance, shared responsibilities and firmer policy alignment to ensure effective dakwah and continuity of Islamic struggles in Malaysia.
According to a statement from his office, the strengthened framework is expected to provide a clearer path for the organisation in meeting its objectives.
Also present were PERKIM vice-presidents Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim, Dr Mohd Riduan Tee Abdullah, Datuk Mohd Nakhaie Ahmad and Ustaz Mohamad Fitri Abdullah.
PERKIM honorary secretary-general Datuk Dr Mohamad Marzuki Mohamad Omar and honorary treasurer Datuk Mersal Abang Rosli also attended.
