KAPIT: An unidentified body of a man was recovered after it was found floating in Batang Rajang today.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said firefighters from Kapit station were dispatched to the scene after receiving a call from the police at 11:58 am, requiring assistance in the retrieval.
Upon arrival, the team launched a search operation downstream and found the body drifting about five kilometres from Pasar Kapit.
They then retrieved the body from the river and placed it in a body bag before transporting it to the Bleteh Wharf.
The remains of the man, who is yet to be identified, were handed over to the police for further action.
Once the situation was deemed safe, the operation ended at 12:42 pm.
