LAWAS: Two repeat drug offenders were caught once again on the wrong side of the law after police seized packets of syabu from them on Tuesday.
The suspects, aged 53 and 56, had two and four prior records related to drugs, respectively.
Lawas police chief DSP Liong Tindan said the first suspect was detained at a house in Trusan area at around 2 pm, while the second suspect was nabbed in town at around 3.10 pm.
Both men were for held for inspections due to suspected drug abuse.
“During inspections, police found two straw tubes from the first suspect, which contained substances believed to be syabu, weighing a total of 1.92 grammes.
“Meanwhile, from the second suspect, police also found and seized a straw tube containing 0.12 grammes of syabu from him,” he said in a statement.
The suspects together with the drugs were taken to the police station for further investigation.
Liong stated that both cases are being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
