SIBU: A non-permanent wooden farmhouse at Jalan Salim, Lorong Kong Yip Yim here was completely destroyed in a fire in Saturday afternoon (Oct 11).
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said an emergency call was received at 2.43 pm, and a team from the Sibu Sentral station was immediately dispatched to the scene, located about 10km away.
Upon arrival, the firefighters reported that the farmhouse, measuring about 20 by 20 square feet, was already engulfed in flames.
Fortunately, no casualties were reported in the incident.
Bomba said firefighting operations were carried out until the fire was brought under control at 3.10 pm and fully extinguished shortly after.
