KUCHING: The Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, and his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, have been invited to grace the 10th Universiti Teknologi Sarawak (UTS) Convocation scheduled for November 8 at the Tun Abdul Taib Mahmud Chancellor Hall in Sibu.
The invitation was extended during a courtesy visit by a UTS delegation to Wan Junaidi and Fauziah at the Astana Negeri Sarawak, here today.
Leading the delegation was UTS Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Datuk Dr Khairuddin Abdul Hamid, who was accompanied by his wife, Datin Dayang Mariani Abang Zain.
Also present were Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr Mohd Shahril Osman, Dean of the School of Built Environment Assoc. Prof. Dr Kan Fock Kui, Head of Academic Affairs and Registrar Department Aspa’ Aida Mohamad, and Head of Administration and Corporate Relations Department Mohd Ian Daim Mahmud.
The upcoming convocation will see a total of 155 graduates from various faculties receiving their scrolls, including from the School of Postgraduate Studies, School of Engineering and Technology, and School of Computing and Creative Media.
During the visit, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah conveyed their appreciation and congratulations to the university for organising the milestone event, expressing hope that UTS will continue to play a vital role in advancing higher education and developing Sarawak’s human capital.
