The Sarawak government will grant a Special Financial Assistance (BKK) equivalent to two months’ basic salary to state civil servants, says Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.

He said the payment, which will be made this month, involves a financial implication of RM131 million.

“Meanwhile, the salary adjustment under the Public Service Remuneration System (SSPA) will involve a financial implication of RM56 million,” he said during his ministerial winding-up speech at the DUN Sitting today (Dec 3).

At the same time, Abang Johari said federal civil servants serving in Sarawak will receive a one-off payment of RM700.

“This special assistance will be paid in the first quarter of 2026 and will involve a financial implication of RM98 million.

“My administration hopes these incentives will motivate civil servants to continue enhancing the quality of service delivery to the people,” he said.

In addition, he said the state government has also approved a one-off financial assistance of RM500 for Sarawak’s retired state civil servants, involving a total allocation of RM50 million.
