SIBU: The Jawatankuasa Kemajuan dan Keselamatan Kampung (JKKK) Sungai Sadit Kanan is collaborating with Ching Ang Methodist Church, to host ‘Light Up the West Bank Christmas Celebration’ starting 7:00 pm this evening at SMI Park, West Bank here.
The organisers cordially invite members of the public to attend, expecting to attract over a thousand participants, as the community comes together to celebrate Christmas with enchanting lights, music and fellowship.
Admission is free, and members of the public are encouraged to bring along their families to listen to the Gospel and spread the blessings of Christmas, allowing peace and joy of the season to reach a wider community.
The event is strongly supported by the Methodist Church Sibu West District, with representatives from 10 churches within the West District expected to be present, reflecting the spirit of unity and harmony.
The evening will feature the ‘Light Up the West Bank’ Christmas Light-Up Ceremony, message sharing by pastors, as well as variety of song and dance performances presented by different churches and community groups, showcasing a vibrant blend of faith and culture.
In addition, there will also be interactive games and quizzes, along with lucky draws featuring up to 60 prizes to be won, adding joy and excitement for attendees of all ages.
The programme will conclude with a mass singing of ‘We Wish You a Merry Christmas’, a group photo session, and a spectacular fireworks display, bringing the celebration to a memorable close.
The event is organised under the leadership of Organising Chairman, Kapitan Chew Hoo Kiong, together with a dedicated organising committee, and is made possible through the strong support of churches, community organisations and volunteers, reflecting the spirit of unity and cooperation among communities.
According to the organisers, ‘Light Up the West Bank’ is not only a festive celebration but also an important platform to unite the community and spread love and hope.
