235 Indonesians repatriated through Tebedu-Entikong border

TEBEDU: A total of 235 Indonesian nationals were repatriated to their home country through the Tebedu-Entikong Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security (ICQS) Complex following a land transfer operation on December 16 and 17.

The Sarawak Immigration Department said the operation began at 8:00 pm on December 16 and was completed at 11:00 am the following day, involving the orderly transfer of detainees via the Sarawak-West Kalimantan border route.

Those repatriated comprised 135 adult men, 85 adult women, six boys and 10 girls.

A team of 16 officers was deployed as an escort unit to ensure security, welfare and logistical management throughout the operation.

The team was led by Senior Assistant Superintendent Sawaliah Said and assisted by Assistant Superintendent Sunarti Zainal.

The department said the operation was conducted in a controlled, coordinated and orderly manner, in line with its commitment to managing the repatriation of foreign detainees in a humane, professional and integrity-driven approach.
