KUCHING: The Malaysian Red Crescent of SJK Chung Hua No. 5 Kuching (Stampin Branch) organised a meaningful gift donation visit to Sarawak Cheshire Home on 16 December 2025, as part of its ongoing commitment to community service and humanitarian values.
In conjunction with the Winter Solstice Festival, pupils took part in preparing delicious glutinous rice balls (tangyuan), a traditional delicacy symbolising unity and togetherness.
The tangyuan were lovingly prepared and distributed to the residents of Sarawak Cheshire Home, bringing warmth, joy, and festive cheer to the home.
“Through this activity, pupils gained hands-on experience in volunteerism while learning the importance of empathy, compassion, and cultural appreciation,” said MRC Stampin Branch in a press statement on Friday.
“The initiative also aimed to instil a sense of social responsibility and encourage pupils to contribute positively to the community,” it said.
Headmistress Tay Kok Ing hopes that such initiatives will continue to strengthen community bonds and promote kindness, care, and goodwill among students and society at large.
