KUCHING: Police arrested a local man for operating an entertainment outlet without a valid licence during a raid at a premise in Gala City along Jalan Tun Jugah here on Wednesday night (Dec 18).
Kuching police chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the operation, carried out at about 10.35pm, was conducted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Police said the suspect, who was believed to be the caretaker of the premises, was detained after failing to produce a valid entertainment licence and business permit during the inspection.
“A total of 15 patrons were found inside the premises at the time of the raid.
“Several musical equipment and other items belonging to the outlet were also seized for further investigation,” he said.
