KUCHING: The Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) Blood Transfusion Services Department has released the schedule for its weekly blood donation campaigns from Dec 22 to 28.
According to the schedule, blood donation sessions will be held daily at the HUS Blood Bank and selected external locations across Kuching and Samarahan.
At the SGH Blood Bank, donation sessions from Monday to Thursday (Dec 22 to 24) will take place from 8.00 am to 12.30 pm and 2.00 pm to 4.30 pm, with a daily target of 30 blood bags.
On Friday (Dec 26), operating hours are from 8.00 am to 11.30 am and 2.15 pm to 4.30 pm.
The HUS Blood Bank will be closed on Thursday (Dec 25) in conjunction with the Christmas public holiday.
Several mobile blood donation campaigns have also been scheduled.
On Tuesday (Dec 23), a session will be held at Boulevard Shopping Mall from 9.00 am to 1.00 pm, organised by Manna Pharmacy, with a target of 80 blood bags.
Another session on Wednesday (Dec 24), will take place from 9.00 am to 12.00 pm at Stampin Red Crescent.
On Saturday (Dec 27), blood donation drives will be held at the Rancang Room, Damai Beach Resort, from 9.00 am to 12.30 pm and at Level 2, Summer Mall Samarahan from 10.00 am to 3.00 pm with a target of 50 blood bags.
The final session for the week is scheduled on Sunday (Dec 28), at the SGH Blood Bank from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm, organised by the Federation of Chinese Associations Youth Section (FOCY), with a target collection of 150 blood bags.
The SGH Blood Bank expressed its appreciation to all donors, organisers and sponsors for their continued support, and encouraged eligible members of the public to participate in the upcoming campaigns to help ensure an adequate blood supply for patients in need.
