KUCHING: A car was completely destroyed in a fire near a business premises at Lorong Foochow 1T here early this morning.
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call regarding the incident at about 1.07 am.
Firefighters from the Tabuan Jaya station were dispatched to the scene and arrived at about 1.13 am.
Upon arrival, the operation commander confirmed that a Naza Sutera vehicle parked by the roadside was engulfed in flames and totally destroyed.
Firefighting operations were carried out using a hose reel line with the blaze brought under control at about 1.30 am and fully extinguished by 1.38 am.
No casualties were reported and the vehicle owner was not present at the scene at the time of the incident.
After ensuring the area was safe and no further fire hazards remained, the firefighting team returned to their station.
