KUCHING: The Sessions Court here sentenced a local man to five years in prison for intentionally injuring his father and younger sister with a car steering lock after being denied money.

Christopher Brian, 40, pleaded guilty before Judge Musli Abdul Hamid to two charges under Section 324 of the Penal Code read together with Section 326A of the same Code.

Under the charges, Christopher was accused of intentionally injuring his 77-year-old father and 25-year-old sister using a car steering lock at their home in Taman Sri Perkasa, Jalan Matang, at around 11pm on Nov 23, 2025.

Judge Musli imposed a five-year prison term for each charge and ordered the sentences to run concurrently, effective from the date of his arrest on Nov 24, 2025.

Based on the case facts, Christopher ran amok on the night of the incident and injured both victims after his request for money from his father was refused.

His father sustained bruises on his left arm, while his sister suffered a laceration to the head, abrasions on the hands and knees, as well as soft tissue injuries to her left arm.

A police report was subsequently lodged, leading to Christopher’s arrest the following day.
