LIMBANG: Several flooded areas here were reportedly under control following continuous monitoring by security agencies.
Sarawak Public Communication Unit (UKAS) reported that water levels were observed to have risen in low-lying areas and along riverbanks, but the situation remained manageable, with no evacuations recorded as of the latest update.
Among the affected villages were Kampung Binjai, Kampung Telahak and Kampung Lubok Piasau, where water levels increased following recent heavy rainfall but had yet to reach a critical stage.
Meanwhile, monitoring by the police in Kampung Tanjong, Kampung Pangkalan Madang, Kampung Batu Danau and Kampung Tanjung Riman found water levels had risen to about one and a half feet, although conditions remained safe.
Several village roads were slightly affected by river overflow but remained passable and did not disrupt residents’ daily activities.
Residents in affected areas were advised to stay alert to changes in water levels, particularly during prolonged rainfall, and to comply with instructions from authorities should conditions deteriorate.
They were also encouraged to make early preparations and report any unusual developments to the Limbang District Disaster Management Committee to ensure public safety.
