KUCHING: Sarawak recorded revenue of RM13.5 billion last year, surpassing the projection of RM13.01 billion, said Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
He said that the final figure was achieved after accounts were closed on Dec 31.
“When the accounts were closed as at December 31, there were additional collections, bringing the total to RM13.5 billion.
“I am satisfied. Alhamdulillah,” he told reporters after officiating the Smart Classroom and Free School Bus Programme at SJK Chung Hua No. 6 here on Monday.
He attributed the state’s economic performance to political stability and prudent financial management.
Previously, during the presentation of the Sarawak 2026 Budget at the State Legislative Assembly (DUN) in November, Abang Johari said that as of October 2025, the state had generated RM10.3 billion, or 73% of the target.
