SIMANGGANG: Police are probing the deaths of a couple found with severe injuries inside their home at Taman Mutiara, Jalan Brayun, here this morning (Jan 14).
Sarawak Police Commissioner Datuk Mohamad Zainal Abdullah said the discovery was made after police received information from members of the public at around 6.55 am.
A team from Sri Aman district police headquarters (IPD), together with paramedics from Sri Aman Hospital, was immediately dispatched to the scene.
“Initial examinations confirmed that both victims — a 45-year-old man and his 44-year-old wife — were already deceased at the location.
“The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder,” he said, adding that investigations are still at an early stage.
Mohamad Zainal explained that the motive and exact cause of the incident are still under investigation, with police actively collecting evidence and recording statements from potential witnesses.
He urged anyone with information related to the case to contact investigating officer ASP Kalang at 019-3317785, or the nearest police station.
It was reported that the victims were a headmaster and a nurse, and that they left behind three children.
