BINTULU: Two local men sustained injuries after the car they were in skidded out of control and slammed into a tree at Kidurong Height, Jalan Kidurong this morning.
The crash involved a Toyota Vios and left one of the occupants trapped inside the vehicle, while the other managed to get out with the help of members of the public before emergency teams arrived.
Firefighters from Bintulu station were dispatched to the scene, about 9.6km away, following a distress call.
Upon arrival, the team used specialised equipment to extricate the trapped victim from the front passenger seat.
Both injured men, in their 20s, were later handed over to paramedics for initial treatment before being sent to the hospital. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known.
The team ended the operation at 4.25 am.
