KUCHING: Twenty-three individuals were detained across multiple drug hotspots here after the National Anti-Drugs Agency (AADK) carried out a three-day enforcement operation targeting drug abuse in residential and coastal areas.
The Ops Perdana operation, conducted from Jan 21 to 23, covered areas including Telaga Air, Muara Tebas, Bako, Matang, Bandar Baru Semariang, Gita, Tabuan, Santubong, Buntal, Bintawa, Haji Baki and Landeh.
AADK said 22 men and one woman were detained, with urine screening results showing 17 tested positive for methamphetamine, four for mitragynine, one for THC and one for benzodiazepine.
The operation involved two officers and six AADK personnel.
AADK Kuching said enforcement operations would continue, stressing that community cooperation remained crucial in curbing drug abuse and supporting rehabilitation efforts.
