SARATOK: Traffic police here issued 38 summonses for various offences during a traffic compliance operation carried out at three key locations on Tuesday (Jan 27).
Saratok Police Chief, DSP Mathew Manggie, said the operation focused on Jalan Roban Lama, Jalan Roban-Kabong, and the Pan Borneo Highway.
A total of 58 vehicles were stopped for inspection, comprising 23 cars, 10 motorcycles, eight multi-purpose vehicles (MPVs), nine pick-up trucks, five vans and three lorries.
“Following inspections, 38 summonses were issued for various traffic violations.

“Among them were nine motorcyclists for riding without a valid licence while six summonses were also issued to car drivers for the same offence.
“Another eight cars were cited for non-compliant licence plates while five summonses each were issued for modified exhaust systems and non-functioning brake lights,” he said.
Mathew pointed out that the traffic operation was aimed at reducing road accidents, particularly those involving motorcyclists, while enhancing road safety awareness among road users.
