SARATOK: An 82-year-old woman was found dead at Sungai Anak, Roban, early yesterday (Feb 19) in a case classified as sudden death.
Saratok police chief DSP Mathew Manggie said police received a report at about 6.40am after being informed of a woman lying unconscious along the road towards Simpang Roban.
The victim was identified as Yong Swee Suong, 82, from Sungai Anak. Initial checks found no visible injuries on the body.
Emergency assistance was provided by the Civil Defence Force (APM), but there was no response. She was pronounced dead at the scene and later taken to Hospital Saratok.
According to her child, the victim had recently been discharged from Hospital Sarikei after receiving treatment for severe asthma symptoms.
A post-mortem examination is scheduled to be conducted today at 10.30am.
