TOKYO, Japan: A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after allegedly stabbing three people with a knife at a library in the southwestern Japan prefecture of Fukuoka, Kyodo News reported, citing local police.

The three victims – two men and a woman – who were attacked in the hall on the first floor of the library, were conscious when taken to hospital, the police said.

The police received an emergency call at around 7.50 pm, reporting that an elderly man with a knife was being restrained by security. – BERNAMA-KYODO
