KUCHING: The Sarawak Teachers’ Union (STU) has expressed its deepest condolences to the family of its former president, the late Madam Molly Chong, describing her passing as a profound loss to both her loved ones and the organisation.
In a statement, STU said Chong’s departure was not only a sorrow to her family but also to the entire union community who held her in high regard.
“Chong demonstrated strong commitment, dedication and an unwavering spirit in championing the welfare of members while elevating the organisation to greater heights throughout her tenure as president of STU,” the statement said.
The union said her contributions and sacrifices would remain etched in the memory of STU members for years to come.
“Her leadership integrity and her caring nature towards members continue to inspire our present and future leadership,” it said.
STU also called on members to pray for her soul to be granted mercy and forgiveness, and to be placed among the righteous.
The union extended its heartfelt sympathies to Chong’s family and expressed hope that they would be granted strength, resilience and patience during this difficult time.
