SIMANGGANG: Four individuals, including a woman, were arrested during Op Tapis Khas in Sri Aman on Thursday (Feb 26).
Sri Aman police chief Supt Dennis Bunyam said they were detained at about 7.30am by a team from the Narcotics Criminal Investigation Division.
He said the suspects led police to the discovery of a straw tube containing suspected syabu crystals concealed inside a small bag.
“The case is being investigated under Section 12(2) and Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Dennis added that preliminary urine screening tests found all suspects positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine.
Background checks showed that the male suspects had prior records related to drug offences, while the female suspect had no previous drug-related record.
He said the district police remained committed to curbing drug abuse activities and urged the public to channel information on such activities to the IPD at 083-322121.
