BAU: Police arrested 13 men aged between 21 and 35 during a narcotics operation conducted in several villages here early Thursday (Feb 26).
Bau police chief DSP Mohd Haide A. Rahman said the operation was carried out between 5.30am and 9.30am around Kampung Opar, Kampung Rumih, Kampung Bogag, Kampung Duyoh and Kampung Serasot.
He said two of the suspects were detained under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 after each was found in possession of one transparent plastic packet containing crystalline substances believed to be syabu.
“Preliminary urine screening tests conducted on all 13 suspects returned positive for drugs and they were also detained under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952,” he said.
Mohd Haide said police would take firm action against those involved in drug abuse activities.
