LIMBANG: The search for a missing elderly man came to a tragic end when his remains were found on the third day.
The search team found the body of 64-year-old Hendry Sian Tama Sian at the upstream area of Long Kebar, Sungai Limbang today.
According to Bomba, the search team came across the victim’s body on a pile of tree branches at 12pm.

It added that the location was about an hour and 45 minutes away from where the victim was last seen with his boat.
“The victim’s body was then transported to Kampung Long Napir using a 4×4 vehicle owned by a villager involved in the operation.
“Family members confirmed the victim’s identity, and the remains were handed over to the police for further action,” it said in a statement.
Earlier, Bomba was alerted to an incident involving a boat that capsized in the river at 12.25am on Feb 26.
A team from the Limbang fire station was dispatched to the location, which is 119 kilometres away at Kampung Long Napir, and arrived at 12.07pm on the same day.
The village head informed the team that Hendry had gone out to repair his boat at about 11.30am on Feb 25 near the river mouth.
Later, two villagers found the victim’s boat capsized in the middle of the river, but the victim was nowhere to be found.
Villagers then gathered to search for Hendry but to no avail.
Subsequently, the SAR operation was launched together with personnel from other emergency services and villagers.
