SIBU: Knights from the Sacred Heart and Roses from the St Elizabeth secondary schools, both former students, will come together for their annual reunion on March 28 at Regalia Ballroom, Kingwood Hotel here.

Organising chairman Albert Liu from the Class of 2006 said after chairing the finalisation meeting on Tuesday (Mar 10), that the focus this year would be on networking and just having a relaxing and fun filled evening of music, songs, dances and games.

Urging former students to quickly reach out and register their attendance via their respective alumni associations, he said availability is subject to a first-come-first-served basis.

Liu said the reunion would not be too formal but more of a laid-back gathering to reminisce and bond with former classmates.

In a related development, Sacred Heart School Old Students Association (SHOSA) President Penghulu Yong King Sung praised Liu for his initiative and courage in stepping forward to lead this year’s reunion.

“To have a millennial knight from 2006 take the lead with the support of those from 1986 and 1966 in marking their 20th, 40th and 60th anniversaries since Form 5 is inspiring and heartwarming,” he said.

Yong said SHOSA is hopeful that knights with various skills would return to lend their expertise in growing SHOSA and the school.

“Now that a precedent has been set, SHOSA looks forward to the 2027 reunion being organised collectively or by any of the Knights from 1967, ’77, ’87, ’97 & 2007,” he added.

Also present at the meeting were representatives from St Elizabeth Old Students Association led by their president Eta Ting.
