KOTA PADAWAN: Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Samarahan Zone brought the spirit of Ramadan closer to the community by distributing bubur lambuk to the public at Kota Padawan Mall on Sunday (Mar 15).

The programme, organised together with the Siburan station and H&L Extra Kota Padawan Mall, saw firefighters interacting with shoppers, mall tenants and members of the public during the distribution.

A total of 669 packets of bubur lambuk were handed out as part of the initiative to share the festive spirit of Ramadan while strengthening ties between Bomba and the local community.

Besides the food distribution, firefighters also took the opportunity to distribute fire safety pamphlets and share reminders on fire prevention, particularly during the festive season when household activities tend to increase.

The programme was officiated by Samarahan Zone chief, PgKB II Gawai John, who also joined firefighters in handing out bubur lambuk to members of the public and shop tenants at the mall.

Bomba said the outreach programme formed part of the department’s ongoing efforts to engage with the community while raising awareness on the importance of fire safety.
