BINTULU: The body of the second teenage victim of a drowning incident on Saturday here has been found by members of the public.

Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department said they received a call from the public that the body of the missing 13-year-old boy at Sungai Plan Lot waterfall has been found at 11.20 pm last night (Saturday, March 21).

A team was sent to retrieve the body, which was located five metres from a riverbank with an estimated depth of nine metres.

“The boy’s body was brought up to the riverbank by the firefighters and residents, and handed over to the police for further action. The search and rescue operations ended at 12.33 am at midnight,” said Bomba.

Before this, initial reports indicated that the victims, along with two other friends, a 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old girl, had gone for a swim at the waterfall at around 2 pm.

The two victims were last seen at approximately 2.30 pm before they were reported missing.

The first victim was found at 5.20 pm on Saturday about five metres from the riverbank near the waterfall.
