SERIAN: A late-night fire at a popular eatery in Bandar Serian was swiftly brought under control by firefighters, preventing any serious damage or injuries.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said the incident was reported at about 11.15pm on Monday (Mar 30).
Firefighters from the Serian Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Serian) arrived at the scene two minutes later, with the premises located about 2km from the station.
Bomba added the blaze originated from the building’s main electrical switch.
The fire was brought under control within minutes and extinguished by 11.30pm.
No casualties were reported, and the incident did not result in any structural damage to the building.
Firefighters also conducted checks to ensure there were no remaining fire hazards before handing over the premises to Sarawak Energy Berhad (SEB) for further action.
