KUCHING: Cooperation between federal agencies and the Sarawak government will continue to be strengthened to further drive the state’s development agenda.
The matter was highlighted during a nearly one-hour courtesy call by FELDA chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Shabery Cheek on Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar at Astana Negeri, Petra Jaya here today (April 13).
The meeting discussed FELDA’s role in supporting the economic stability of settlers, particularly in relation to regional development in Sarawak.
Ahmad Shabery expressed appreciation and admiration for the leadership of Wan Junaidi, describing him as committed to fulfilling his responsibilities while maintaining harmony among Sarawak’s multi-ethnic communities.
He also praised Sarawak’s progress in green economy and digital economy development, which he said serves as a national model.
In addition, he shared updates on FELDA’s latest programmes aimed at improving the livelihoods of its settlers, in line with Sarawak’s aspiration to achieve developed state status
Wan Junaidi, in turn, welcomed the continued collaboration and expressed hope that cooperation between federal agencies and the Sarawak government will remain strong in driving the state’s development agenda.
Also present during the visit were FELDA officials, including plantation operations director Razuan Che Rose, chief special officer Mohamad Halizi A. Bakar, special officers Mohamad Isa Hassan and Abdul Azim Abdul Rahim.
