KUCHING: Sarawak Digital Economy Corporation Berhad (SDEC) has launched four integrated premises designed to boost operational efficiency and better serve communities across Sarawak.

The new facilities, located at the Royal Bay Commercial Centre, Pending, here were officially launched by SDEC chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Morshidi Abdul Ghani, together with members of the Board of Directors and senior management at the site yesterday (April 14).

The premises comprise a Network Operation Centre (NOC), Technical Operation Centre (TOC), an expanded IR4.0 Prototyping Lab, and dedicated storage facilities.

“Designed as an integrated operations hub, the new premises bring together critical functions within a unified ecosystem.

“By co-locating the NOC, TOC, and operational workspace, it will enable real-time monitoring, faster incident response, and more seamless coordination across teams,” said SDEC in a statement issued today (Apr 15).

This integration is expected to enhance service visibility, strengthen network reliability, and ensure more efficient connectivity delivery, particularly for underserved and rural communities across Sarawak.

A key highlight is the expansion of the IR4.0 Prototyping Lab, which will evolve into two specialised centres — the Advanced Robotics Centre and the Cybersecurity OT (Operational Technology) Simulation Centre.

SDEC said the expansion addresses emerging areas such as physical artificial intelligence and embodied intelligence systems, as well as cybersecurity for critical infrastructure.

The Advanced Robotics Centre will focus on accelerating the adoption of robotics and physical AI in real-world applications, while cultivating local talent and strengthening capabilities in next-generation intelligent systems.

Meanwhile, the Cybersecurity OT Simulation Centre will position Sarawak as a regional leader in OT cybersecurity, offering simulation, testing and specialised training to enhance industry resilience against cyber threats.

The lab expansion is currently underway, with both centres to be operationalised in phases.
