LIMBANG: The Sarawakku Sayang programme (SKS) 2026 here recorded 16,000 QR code accesses over the weekend, showing the effectiveness of the government’s outreach approach in delivering services directly to the people.
Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development, Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, who is also the Bukit Kota assemblyman, said the achievement reflects the high level of public acceptance of the government’s initiative, which focuses on delivering services directly in the field.
According to him, the programme, held from April 10 to 12, proves that the outreach approach is the most effective method to ensure that the people have direct access to government services without bureaucratic barriers while also speeding up processes and improving the efficiency of the public service delivery system as a whole.
He said this when met by the media at the Hari Raya Aidilfitri open house hosted by Members of the Council together with staff of the Limbang District Council on Wednesday (April 15).
Meanwhile, the total number of visitors was estimated at between 25,000 and 30,000 people, including from Brunei, further strengthening Limbang’s position as a strategic location attracting regional attendance.
More significantly, the programme also generated a notable economic impact when sales at Limbang Kitchen reached around RM196,000 within three days, in addition to stimulating local business activities, including the food, retail and accommodation sectors.
Commenting on the comparison with the Sejiwa Senada programme, Dr Abdul Rahman explained that cross-border movement restrictions had affected attendance numbers but did not impact the overall effectiveness of the programme.
Meanwhile, the SKS programme roadshow will continue in Miri next week before concluding in Kuching in November.
He noted that the success of the Limbang event reinforces the government’s commitment to expanding the outreach approach as a key strategy to ensure more efficient, inclusive and high-impact service delivery to the people.
