MIRI: A car was reduced to a shell in a fast-moving blaze near the Miri Indoor Stadium on Monday night, with firefighters arriving to find the vehicle already fully engulfed.
The Fire and Rescue Department received a distress call at 8.26pm, prompting an immediate deployment from Lopeng fire station.
The firefighters reached the scene along Jalan Stadium Tertutup within 11 minutes.
On arrival, the grey Perodua Alza was burning intensely, the fire having consumed the vehicle before responders could intervene.
Firefighters acted swiftly to contain the blaze, deploying a single hose line using water from the fire engine.
The fire was brought under control within five minutes and fully extinguished shortly afterwards, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas.
No injuries were reported, and no other property was affected.
The cause of the fire and the extent of losses are under investigation.
