SINGAPORE: The Sarawak Pavilion is drawing strong attention at the Food & Hospitality Asia (FHA) 2026 event here by showcasing the uniqueness and innovation of local products, setting it apart from hundreds of other exhibitors.
Managed by Sarawak Trade and Tourism Office Singapore (STATOS), the pavilion brings together 19 exhibitors within a 126-square-metre space, including new participants that reflect the positive growth of Sarawak’s small and medium enterprise (SME) sector.
Among the products featured are Sarawak pepper, bird’s nest, empurau fish and Sarawak Gold 1 (SG1) pineapples, along with tasting sessions that allow visitors to experience the distinct qualities of these local offerings.
Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, said platforms such as FHA provide opportunities for local entrepreneurs to expand their market reach and strengthen their brands internationally.
He noted that innovations such as midin-based tea demonstrate the ability of local producers to add value to existing resources.
“Midin, which we know as a vegetable, has now been successfully commercialised as a beverage and is well received in the Singapore market.
“This proves that our products have their own unique appeal and are capable of attracting international markets,” he was quoted in an UKAS report following the launch of the Sarawak Pavilion here today (April 21).
Awang Tengah, who is also the Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment, stressed that Sarawak’s strengths in the agriculture and fisheries sectors provide a solid foundation for entrepreneurs to compete globally.
“Consumers today prioritise quality and product safety. This requires producers to adapt their processes and standards in line with market demands,” he emphasised.
FHA 2026, held from April 21 to 24 at Singapore Expo, is expected to attract more than 80,000 international visitors, further expanding business networking and investment opportunities.
