MIRI: A 73-year-old man who went missing from his farm near here has been found dead following a five-day search.
Sagai Kunchau was reported missing on the night of April 23 after failing to return home from his smallholding near the Petronas bypass.
It triggered an immediate response from the Fire and Rescue Department.
Firefighters from Lopeng station arrived within minutes and began a search of the surrounding area, characterised by thick vegetation and uneven terrain.
The operation quickly expanded into a multi-agency effort, drawing in personnel from the police, the General Operations Force, civil defence teams and local residents.
At approximately 12:30 pm on Tuesday, search teams found the body and the remains were carried out of the wooded area and handed over to police for further investigation.
Authorities have not disclosed the cause of death as investigations are ongoing.
