KUCHING: The stage is set for a date with destiny at Bukit Jalil National Stadium as Kuching City FC prepare for the Malaysia Cup final against defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).

For Kuching City, this is more than just a final – it is the culmination of years of steady growth and perseverance.

Head coach Aidil Sharin Sahak remained actively involved throughout the session, constantly speaking to his players and fine-tuning details as the squad adjusted to the Bukit Jalil atmosphere.

Assistant coach Oleg Kuzmianok also played a key role, gathering players for tactical reminders as Kuching City polished the finer details ahead of the final.

Despite the pressure surrounding the match, the Kuching City camp appeared relaxed and confident, with players balancing concentration and enjoyment as they prepared for the biggest game in the club’s history.

Saturday’s final marks Kuching City’s first-ever Malaysia Cup final appearance, capping a remarkable campaign for the Sarawak side.

Standing in their way, however, are five-time winners JDT, who enter the final as favourites given their dominance in Malaysian football over the past decade.

Still, Kuching City have shown throughout the season that they are capable of competing with the country’s best, and will be hoping to produce one more memorable performance under the Bukit Jalil lights.

Now, with one match left, the Cats stand on the edge of history.

Under the Bukit Jalil lights, they are no longer merely chasing history – they are embracing it.

They are ready to write their own chapter and dare to dream beneath the glow of football’s biggest domestic stage.
