MIRI: Bintulu representative Gracelyn Tigang was crowned Miss Grand Sarawak 2026 during a dazzling grand finale held at the Boulevard Exhibition Hall here on Tuesday night.

The prestigious pageant brought together 14 delegates from across Sarawak in a celebration of beauty, confidence, cultural diversity and women’s empowerment. Contestants competed in various segments showcasing elegance, intelligence, talent and advocacy throughout the evening.

Gracelyn impressed judges with her poise and stage presence to emerge as the overall winner of the state-level competition. Lingga representative Elene Sulissa was named first runner-up, while Sebauh contestant Juyant Jelimah secured the second runner-up title.

The newly crowned winners will advance to compete in Miss Grand Malaysia 2026. The national titleholder will subsequently represent Malaysia at the Miss Grand International competition, which is scheduled to take place in India this October.

Several subsidiary titles were also presented to recognise outstanding performances during the competition.

Lingga won the Miss Social Media title, while Tatau received the Best Introduction award. Bintulu secured the Best Pageant Week Outfit title, Mukah was awarded Best Evening Gown, and Miri took home the Best Walk accolade.

Special sponsored awards presented by The Fisherman Wharf Miri & KK also honoured contestants who demonstrated exceptional qualities throughout the competition.

Tatau received the Miss Corporate Queen title, Kuching Utara won Miss Pearl Elegance, while Lingga added another achievement after being named Miss Influencer Charm.

This year’s finalists represented divisions and districts from across Sarawak, namely Kuching City North, Kuching City South, Bintulu, Kanowit, Limbang, Lingga, Miri, Mukah, Sebauh, Sibu, Sibuyau, Sri Aman, Tanjung Bidat and Tatau.

Organisers said the pageant highlighted Sarawak’s diversity and inclusive spirit, noting that the representative from Lingga is originally from Kedah while the Sri Aman delegate hails from Sabah.

Miss Grand Sarawak 2026 was organised by Aldrin’s Artistry under the leadership of Aldrin Grame in collaboration with Miri Events & Decor Specialist led by Elvin George.

The organising committee also expressed appreciation to sponsors and partners whose support contributed to the success of the event. Among them were Emart Hotel Miri, Boulevard Shopping Mall, Wah Tung Travel Sdn Bhd, The Fisherman Wharf Miri & KK, FJ International, Remix Technologies, Moment Studio Production, Village Mobile & Sounds System, Abdul & Daughters Catering, Adib Fathi, and RH Restaurant & Catering.

Organisers said the platform continues to empower young women through leadership, cultural appreciation, confidence and social advocacy while promoting Sarawak at both national and international levels.
