KUCHING: National women’s doubles pair Pearly Tan and M. Thinaah booked their place in the quarter-finals of the Indonesia Open after overcoming Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Ya Ching and Sung Yu-Hsuan in straight games today (June 4).
The Malaysian pair were made to work hard for their victory before eventually prevailing 21-18, 21-19 in a fiercely contested round of 16 encounter at Istora Senayan.
Fresh from dispatching Canada’s Crystal Lai and Jeslyn Dent in the opening round, Pearly and Thinaah entered the match looking to maintain their momentum against the unseeded Taiwanese pair.
