KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi today received a courtesy visit from the organising committee for the state-level official birthday celebration of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong at Astana Sarawak.
The visit was held to formally extend invitations to both Wan Junaidi and Fauziah to attend the Thanksgiving Ceremony and Tea Reception in conjunction with the celebration, which will be held on June 13 and 14 in Betong Division.
The delegation was led by Minister in the Premier’s Department and chairman of the organising committee, Datuk Seri John Sikie Tayai.
Sikie was accompanied by Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development II Datuk Francis Harden Hollis, Deputy Minister for International Trade, Industry and Investment Datuk Dr Malcolm Mussen Lamoh, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Datuk Snowdan Lawan, Deputy Minister for Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Datuk Mohamad Razi Sitam and Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development Datuk Gerald Rentap Jabu.
The courtesy visit served as a formal occasion to present the invitation and brief Wan Junaidi and Fauziah on the upcoming programme.
During the meeting, Wan Junaidi expressed his appreciation for the invitation and expressed hope that the celebration would be smoothly executed and achieve its objectives in fostering unity, loyalty and appreciation among the people of Sarawak towards the Constitutional Monarchy institution.
