KUALA LUMPUR: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, today hosted a high-level academic delegation in a meeting at the official residence here, underscoring ongoing engagement between state leadership and the country’s intellectual community.
The Yang di-Pertua Negeri, together with Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, received a group of prominent academics led by Professor Datuk TPr Dr Alias Abdullah, Fellow at the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and Professor of Urban Planning at the International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM), in a session held at 8:30 am.
The delegation included Associate Professor Dr Shamrahayu Abdul Aziz of the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM; Datuk Dr Jalalludin Harun, Fellow of the Academy of Sciences Malaysia and member of the National Professors Council; Professor Dr Nik Ahmad Kamal Nik Mahmod of Multimedia University (MMU) Melaka; and Professor Ir Ts. Dr Yusuff Taib, Chief Operating Officer of the National Professors Council.
The meeting served as a platform for the exchange of views on current issues, as well as sharing of professional insights and expertise across multiple disciplines, reflecting a continued emphasis on collaboration between policymakers and academia.
Both Wan Junaidi abd Fauziah expressed appreciation for the visit and extended their best wishes to the visiting scholars for continued excellence in their respective fields.
