KUCHING: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) has not decided on any potential candidates for the upcoming Sarawak election, dismissing social media posts claiming to list the coalition’s prospective line-up.

Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Information chief Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah said the clarification was issued to prevent confusion among party leaders and supporters, stressing that the names circulating on social media had not been endorsed by GPS.

“In this regard, GPS wishes to clarify that no potential candidates have been decided by the coalition of Sarawak governing party.

“GPS views this clarification as necessary to avoid confusion among party leadership and supporters as these so-called proposed candidates are not endorsed by GPS,” he said in a statement today.

Abdul Karim said GPS nevertheless appreciated the social media posts, describing them as a sign of support for the coalition.
