SARIKEI: Preparations for the Sarawakku Sayang (SKS) 2026 Central Zone programme scheduled to be held from Aug 7 to 9 have entered the final phase, with a site inspection and coordination meeting held at the Sarikei Sports Complex today (July 7).

Deputy State Secretary (Operations) and chairman of the SKS 2026 Programme Committee (Central Zone) Datuk Hii Chang Kee led the site visit, which involved representatives from various government departments and agencies.

The inspection focused on reviewing preparations at the venue, including the exhibition layout, visitor flow, logistical requirements, and technical arrangements to ensure the smooth running of the programme.

The delegation also assessed visitor facilities and preparations for the arrival of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is scheduled to attend the event.

Also participating in the visit were representatives from the Sarikei Divisional Administration; the Public Works Department (PWD) Sarawak; the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Entrepreneur Development (MYSED); as well as other relevant government departments and agencies.

Following the site inspection, a coordination meeting was held at the Sarawak Integrated Administrative Centre (IAC) in Sarikei to finalise preparations, including logistics, programme arrangements, and the allocation of responsibilities among the organising committees.

The meeting also discussed proposed activities and operational requirements as part of the final preparations ahead of the event.
