KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi received a courtesy call from Chief of Army General Tan Sri Azhan Md Othman at Astana Sarawak here today.
The visit marked Azhan’s first official courtesy call on Tun Wan Junaidi since his appointment as Chief of Army on Jan 1, 2026.
During the meeting, Wan Junaidi was briefed on the development of Malaysian Army projects in Sarawak, including the implementation of the 1 Division Malaysian Infantry – Defence Package (1DMI-DP): Border Patrol Communication & Support Equipment project, which aims to strengthen communication capabilities and operational support for border patrol activities.
The meeting also touched on the implementation of the Angkatan Masa Hadapan (AMH) initiative involving Malaysian Army formations in Sarawak to enhance the force’s readiness and operational capabilities.
