KUCHING: A special consultation programme to assist individuals who have experienced illegal moneylender harassment will be held to educate victims about legal rights and appropriate strategies to address such harassment.
Organised by TK3000 Malaysia International Humanitarian Organisation (MHO Group), its representative, William said many victims suffer from continuous harassment through phone calls, text messages, social media, and threats directed at both themselves and their family members, which often result in severe emotional stress and disruption to daily life.
“Many victims believe they have no way out. Through our consultation sessions, we explain the available legal options, practical strategies, and appropriate steps that may help stop loan shark harassment, based on the specific facts and circumstances of each case,” he said in a statement on Tuesday (July 21).
Each consultation includes a personalised assessment and guidance on responding to loan shark harassment, understanding legal rights, managing emotional stress, and ensuring personal and family safety.
TK3000 stressed that loan shark harassment cases require a thorough consultation, typically lasting about an hour, to fully assess the situation and identify the most appropriate course of action.
Consultations are available in person at the MHO Sarawak office or online via Google Meet for individuals outside the area.
Family members are encouraged to attend the consultation so they can better understand the situation and support the victim throughout the process.
